• Contest Entry Drop-Off - Photo Contest: “Where the Wild Things Grow: A Prairie Wild Photo Contest”

• Submit one 8x10 printed photo of your favorite garden scene

• Reflect the “Prairie Wild” theme (native plants, natural beauty, wildlife, garden life)

• Mount photos on sturdy backing (foam board or cardstock recommended)

• Maximum mounted size: 11x14 inches

• No frames or glass 

• Include your name and photo title on the back only (not visible from the front)

• Photos must be ready to display upon submission (no loose or unmounted entries)
   

5:00 – 6:00 PM - Botanical Field Sketching with Desirée Brothe, Magpie Creations

Slow down and connect with nature through simple, observational drawing. This session will introduce basic techniques for sketching plants in the field—no experience needed—while helping you notice the details that make each plant unique.

Take a guided tour of a geodesic dome and discover how this unique structure creates an efficient, protected growing environment for plants. Learn how to turn common “weeds” into nutrient-rich plant amendments. This session covers simple, sustainable ways to build healthier soil using plants you already have.
